Ten chairs in ten days
University of Cambridge
Project exploring the process of intensive making over a short period of time. Focusing on the theme of interdependence, the chairs produced all worked as part of a sequence. The process of queuing informed early attempts, including a series of OSB-framed pieces that could only be used in a specific order. Later attempts focused on plaster casting - maquettes where the form of one piece had a lasting effect on its neighbour, and where the casting of one piece might only occur after another.
